Singapore, the little red dot, but it is like a precious treasure box.
I have been living here for 7 years but I can never finish exploring this small country because there are so many places to explore! I am lucky that my partner has brought me to The Southern Ridges, Sungai Buloh Wetland Reserve, Coney Island and many more park!
It's not east to get someone willing to hike 11km with you. My partner has to work on weekdays so he can't bring me there, but I have my cousin with me this time!

We almost missed our stop to alight but also coincidently found the entrance! HAHA.
Too excited to explore MacRitchie forest!

Here marks the start of 11km (yellow route) of MacRitchie Via MacRitchie Reservoirs, Tree Top Walk, Jelutong Tower and Golf Link.

As you can see from the map, there are different routes to take based on your interest and difficulty you want to achieve. We took the yellow route (11km) to Tree Top Walk then took the yellow route to Jelutong Tower and back to Lornie Road entrance. So it made the total journey about 13-14km.
Visitors who are visiting MacRitchie Nature Trail before September 2017
PLEASE TAKE NOTE!

This is the first sign you will see after entering the trail at the first junction. Follow the signboard to MacRitchie Reservoir Park so you won't lost your way.

-Jering Trail-
First, you will see Jering Trail on your left. You will get attracted by the wooden trail and the beautiful scenery and walk further down to somewhere else. I would suggest you to walk 1/4 of this Jering trail, take some nice photos and videos then turn back to the junction. Because it is a long trail which bring you back to the entrance! We were lucky that my cousin won the game in scissors paper stone (LOL) so we took the correct betted route, if not, we will be wasting our time on the wrong trail.
The map and the signboard at this junction is very confusing. So here I suggest everyone to follow the signboard to MacRitchie Reservoir Park.

The water is so clear!!!

We took the Chemperai Trail on the left instead of the rocky trail (Difficult route) to MacRitchie Reservoir Park on the right.

-Chemperai Trail-

You will often see monkey families in the reservoir. Besides that, you will also see birds and butterflies flying around you, lizards crawling in front or beside you!

-MacRitchie Reservoir Park-
After a long walk from the entrance, we finally passing through MacRitchie Reservoir Park.
We are not even half way there yet...

Yes, it was super hot in the morning!
Outfit, shoes, bags and hat are from Adidas Original.
Sunglasses from Dior.

Here we go again!

It took us about 4.5km hike from MacRitchie Reservoir Park. We were so happy to see that we were only 850m away from Tree Top Walk. But be prepared, it is a uphill hike which required a lot of your staminas and muscle strengths! haha.

-HSBC MacRitchie Tree Top Walk-
The total length of the walkway is about 250 m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25 m.

The bird's eye view of MacRitchie.

There is only ONE WAY TRAFFIC on Tree Top Walk.
The entrance to the bridge is from the Ranger Station via Peirce Track.
Additional information from npark.gov.sg :
The Tree Top Gate closes at 5pm sharp. Visitors are advised to start hiking towards the bridge by 4.45pm from Ranger Station to avoid disappointment.
If you wish to organise a hike in the nature reserve for 30 people or more, please complete this application formand submit it to us at least one month before the date of the activity. Please note that for organised groups, only a maximum of 100 pax per day is allowed into the nature reserves. If the quota has been met for that day, you are required to opt for another day.

After exiting the bridge, there are a lot of stairs to exit to the trail.

-Jelutong Tower-
Yup! Stairs again! These stairs are about 7 floors high.
But the view up there worth everything!

WE MADE IT!
Alright! After visited the Jelutong tower, there are two ways to exit.
1. Yellow route via Golf Link back to the entrance at Lornie Road
or
2. Pink Route via Riffle Range Link which is stated on the signboard it's a difficult trail.
(You can refer to the map above.)
We took the yellow route back to where we entered. However, there is a part of the trail ( about 1km) doesn't have any trees to shelter you from the sun.

-Golf link-
Exit via golf link, Singapore Island Country Club.

It took us 5 hours to explore MacRitchie with approx 14km of hike.
It was very fulfilling especially I have someone I know for almost 25 years to conquer this forest and long hours of hike together.
